Chapter 28
The Next Day
Nimble and Herman were both standing before Zoith in the chapel of her temple. They were both standing before Zoith and her high priest, Marquiest. “Well done my child.” Zoith said cheerfully, “You have passed the first test.” Nimble looked shocked. “What do you mean my lady?” Nimble asked with a start, “I was captured and was unable to protect my friends.” “But you did protect them, you went back to save Titanic and countless others.” Zoith said, “You and Herman.” Nimble and Herman smiled. “You have the makings of a fine guardian.” Zoith said, “You have proven yourself able to protect the ghost ships. Now you must protect them and all ships from the horrors of the Rauber, a breed of ship eating planes.” “I shall do my best, my lady.” Nimble and Herman both bowed to her. “Now if you’ll excuse me I must speak with Titanic.” Nimble then walked off to the dock with Herman following close behind.

Titanic was peacefully sleeping in the dry dock that was adjacent to Zoith’s temple. His wounds were dressed and he was now resting in the dry dock. It had been a year since he was able to sleep so peacefully, after all his mate was safe and so were his children, grandchildren and the rest of his fleet. Titanic let out a great yawn as he slowly opened his sad blue eyes. It was then a warm smile crossed his face when he spotted Nimble and Herman heading up to them. When Nimble got up to Titanic, she reached out her hand and stroked his hull as she smiled. “It seems like only yesterday I stepped on to this dock to make sure you survived the salvagers attack.” Nimble warmly said, “Hard to believe that was 11 years ago.” Titanic chuckled. “Those were good times.” He warmly said. “Now everything has changed.” Nimble said, “Lady Zoith was just telling me and Herman about a race of ship-eating planes that are becoming a problem.” “That is as soon as your wounds heal, Titanic.” Herman chimed in. “I'm ready.” Titanic growled as he looked out towards the horizon. “So am I.” Herman said as he too looked to the horizon. “As am I.” Nimble said while also looking towards the horizon as well, “For what ever comes over the horizon.”…
